What is it that makes photography so unique and intriguing? Perhaps it is the fact that you get to view the subject from someone else’s point of view. Or, perhaps it is because that moment will forever be showcased in a single photo. That is a lot of responsibility for one photo.

Creative Wedding Photography Style Inspiration

Being able to capture emotion through photography is incredibly unique! After all, it’s what creates such stunning photos.

Here at M Place Productions, we believe that photography is unique because it showcases the emotions within that moment without the use of words. You can look at the photo and know how the subject is feeling in that exact moment. Emotion is the most crucial element within a photo. That’s why we wanted to share some advice for capturing emotion throughout your own portraits. To learn of some great tips, be sure to continue reading:

-Hold the Cheese. How many times have you been asked to say “cheese” when someone points a camera at you? Even one time is too many. Saying cheese doesn’t present your smile or facial expressions in the best way possible. Allow yourself to be natural and hold off on the “cheese”.

-The Power of Thought. The power of thought is amazing. Think back to one of your happiest memories. Did you smile? Allow yourself to channel your memories to make you feel those emotions. This will allow you to display genuine emotions within your photos.

-Warm Up. If you are feeling nervous at all, that will be the only emotion you are likely to display within your photos. But, you don’t have to feel nervous. Talk with your photographer about doing a few practice photos to warm up.
